Hi, I’m SJ.
I’m just a girl, standing in front of readers, asking them to love my books.
Kidding! Sort of. Or… maybe not at all.
I AM just a girl. A girl writing stories with Black women at the centre. Women who are bold, brave, strong, vulnerable. Ones who are allowed to make mistakes and loved ferociously anyway. You know, the kind of books I used to search hopelessly for when I was a kid, practically living in the library because I had no after-school program.
And I’m definitely asking you to love them, because these characters are little pieces of my soul pressed onto the page.
Right now, my author journey has been as chaotic as I am. Jumping from genre to genre and telling all the stories I feel need to be told. That being said, I am trying to lock in on grown-up things and will slowly be working my way through a rebrand.
Buckle up! Knowing me, this is bound to be a bumpy ride!
